How lucky am I to have to honor of introducing you to the wonderful Kelly Angelovic, illustrator and surface pattern designer from Colorado?! With a background in graphic design, Kelly found her true love in the art of illustration. Hop on over to view Kelly’s portfolio and please leave her a warm welcome in the comments! :)

What is your favorite crayon or paint color?
I could never pick just one! I am enamoured with the power of color—in my life, my home, and in my work. Choosing the color palette is for me, one of the most important parts of the whole process.
That said, Aquamarine and Hot Magenta are always at the top of my list.
If you were a super hero what would your super power be? And your name?
No question: teleportation. And my name? The Atomic Comet!
Tell us about how you decided to pursue a career in art?
Though I have always been creative, my path meandered a bit before I found my way. At the University of Colorado, I majored in business. A few years after graduating—finally heeding my own creative call— my husband and I moved from Colorado to Seattle, and I went back to school to study graphic design at the School of Visual Concepts. Two years later, we returned to Boulder. My creative studio was established in 2008 with a focus on graphic design. In 2011, my daughter Hazel was born and I started illustrating while she napped. I fell head over heels in love with the art of image making--a new world opened up. And I haven’t looked back.
What inspires you?
Color. Vulnerability. Truth. My kids. My husband. Unfettered determination. Vintage packaging. Beauty amid the chaos of everyday life. The belief that anything is possible. The way my children's giggles can turn my whole day around.

Your wish for mankind…
That we would all get our collective act together and start putting our planet ahead of our bank accounts. And that we would finally all learn that love is so much more powerful than hate.
